Clarke SA40 Stand-On Autoscrubber Review [VIDEO]

Adding an automatic floor scrubber into your facility’s cleaning and maintenance program will increase worker productivity, improve cleaning results, and extend the life of your floor.

So how do you choose the best automatic floor scrubber for your facility when they are available in varying types and sizes with a range of features.

For large facilities or facilities with open areas, stand-on auto floor scrubbers can maximize worker productivity by reducing fatigue and increasing cleaning efficiencies.

In a previous article, we shared a list of the best stand on and ride on floor scrubbers of 2022 and that list includes the Clarke® SA40™.

What makes the Clarke® SA40™ one of the best stand-on automatic floor scrubbers of 2022?

The SA40™ stand on scrubber is equipped with basic features providing your staff with the productivity and safety of a ride on scrubber for the cost of a walk-behind autoscrubber.

This stand-on scrubber is designed to deliver reliable and productive cleaning performance in tight areas. It has a small turn radius to allow the operator to easily maneuver in tight hallways or aisles.

Below, we’ll provide a comprehensive review of the features and benefits that make the Clarke® SA40™ autoscrubber one of the best stand on floor scrubbers of 2022.

Clarke® SA40™ Autoscrubber Review

Battery Operated

Available with maintenance-free batteries, this Clarke floor scrubber provides between 2-3 hours of run time.

With cord-free maneuverability, the operator can travel beyond the length of a cord. Cords require the operator to work around the cord and to stay within reach of an outlet.Clarke SA40 wht Rear

By eliminating cords, the operator can work more efficiently.

On-Board Battery Charger

Increasing convenience and productivity, the Clarke® SA40™ is equipped with an on-board battery charger.

With an on-board charger, batteries can be charged at any 120V outlet for increased efficiency.

Pro Tip:When any autoscrubber is plugged into an on-board battery charger, it can not be operated.

Stand-On Machine

Stand on floor scrubbers greatly improve worker productivity. They allow the operator to stand on the back of the machine and drive the floor scrubber with no extra effort, reducing operator fatigue.

The Clarke SA40™ also has excellent sight lines when compared to other floor scrubbers.

The operator does not struggle to see over the front of the machine body like they would with a walk behind floor scrubber. The ability to clearly see the whole machine body will allow the operator to carefully reach into areas without damaging walls or fixtures.

Small Turn Radius

只需要59.5英寸转身,这scrubber is easily maneuvered into tight or congested areas.

With a small turn radius, staff can work in aisles or hallways without having to switch to a smaller floor scrubber or alternate to a mop and bucket.

The mall turn radius is possible though its compact size.

Right Justified Scrub Deck

The scrub deck protrudes slightly to the right of the machine for enhanced cleaning along walls.

The combination of the extended cleaning deck and front positioned cleaning brush increases the operator's ability to clean all the way into corners and back out, all while fully capturing the dirty water and solution.

Allowing the operator to reach all the way into the corner all of the wall eliminates the need for additional cleaning or solution recovery from the hard to reach area.

LCD Display

The easy-to-read, LCD graphical display allows you to easily control the scrubbing features of this machine. There are individual buttons to adjust the brush pressure and solution flow, and an on/off button for the vacuum.Clarke SA40 Control Panel Angle 2

Multiple Solution Flow Settings

The SA40 comes equipped with the ability to toggle between low, medium or high in order to match the cleaning level needed. The ability to adjust the solution rate to the task at hand eliminates solution waste.

High solution flow helps tackle tough stains that require additional cleaning solution.

Daily cleaning or light soil can be removed with the low or medium solution flow setting.

The low solution flow setting combined with the machine’s 12-gallon solution tanks can also provide the operator with a longer scrub time before having to empty the tank.

The solution flow rate control is located right at your fingertips on the LCD display, so the operator does not have to stop to switch flow rates, boosting worker productivity.

Two Pad Pressure Settings

This floor scrubber offers two different pad pressures setting: high and low.

Multiple pad pressures is important for stain removal and improved worker productivity. Allowing the operator to easily switch between pad pressures will allow the operator to tackle a variety of soils and surfaces.

For daily cleaning or medium scrubbing, the low pressure setting provides up to 51 pounds of downward pad pressure.

If you are dealing with tougher stains and soils, you can increase down pressure on the cleaning pad to 75 pounds to quickly clean the problem area.

Debris Capture

Clarke SA40 Debris Catch Cage

In a single pass, this scrubber has the ability to collect debris, scrub, and dry the floor.

The debris capture saves time and boosts worker productivity by reducing the need to pre-sweep before scrubbing. Additionally, it prevents hoses from getting clogged.

Wrap Around Squeegee

The squeegee blade on the SA40™ sits directly behind the floor pad, providing superior water and solution recovery. The more water that is removed from the floor, the lower the likelihood of occupant slips and falls.

The polyurethane blades are extremely durable and resistant to most chemicals and oils.

Large Recovery Tank Opening

Easy access to the tank allows workers to quickly clean it. Thorough cleaning will also reduce

the likelihood of mold and mildew growth which would require additional attention from custodial staff.

The recovery tank has a large opening on the top of the machine for easy cleaning and maintenance.

Easy Maintenance

The Clarke® SA40™ autoscrubber does not require any tools to perform common service tasks.

通常,刮刀刀片或地板垫需要be adjusted for optimal performance. Other auto floor scrubbers require the operator to use additional tools to remove and adjust these parts, reducing worker productivity.
